On June 7, 2023, a meeting of the JRCAS Student Section was held at Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies. The meeting was accompanied by a paper presentation delivered by Mr. Dawid Tomczyk entitled The problem of terrorism in the African states of the Sahel and Sahara region. After the presentation of the paper, a discussion took place.

After the scientific part, the director of JRCAS, prof. Robert Kłosowicz presented the latest activities of the Center, as well as plans and projects that will be implemented in the near future. Among the most important planned events are the Congress of Polish Africanists, which will be organized next year at the Jagiellonian University, and the exhibition dedicated to Pygmies and Bushmen, the organization of which will be the result of cooperation between JRCAS, the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow and the Jagiellonian Library. The students of the Section committed themselves to help in the preparation of these events
