Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Human Geography and Regional Development, University of Ostrava

We are pleased to announce that at the beginning of the semester a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies and the Department of Human Geography and Regional Development, University of Ostrava. The agreement is aimed at cooperation in the field of academic research conducted by both units, as well as in regard to international exchange programs implemented by the Jagiellonian University and the University of Ostrava as part of their educational agenda (e.g. through promotion and experience sharing). The signed agreement also enables short- and long-term exchange of faculty members and non-academic staff as part of the bilateral exchange.

As part of the cooperation, we are already realizing a mini grant received in the Priority Research Area “Society of the Future” (FutureSoc) competition (the PRA is part of Strategic Program Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University): Socio-political transformations in the African Great Lakes region in the postcolonial perspective, research team: Dr. Joanna Mormul (principal investigator), prof. dr. hab. Robert Kłosowicz, Dr. Kateřina Ženková Rudincová.
