On 26 April 2024 the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw held a celebration commemorating the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda - "Kwibuka". The Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies was represented at this event by prof. Joanna Bar and prof. Robert Kłosowicz, who had been invited by the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Poland. These celebrations, called "Kwibuka", are an annual period of reflection and remembrance of the tragic events that took place in Rwanda from April to July 1994 and claimed lives of 800,000 up to a million victims.
