The preparations for the exhibition continue

On 29 February 2024 a delegation representing the Jagiellonian Library (Iwona Wawrzynek, Karolina Chorązka-Paluch), the Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Krakow (Jacek Kukuczka, Mateusz Król) and the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies (Robert Kłosowicz, Izabela Cywa) headed to the Mission Museum in Tarnów. The purpose of the visit was to select Pygmy artifacts from Izabela Cywa's private collection, which is currently stored in the Mission Museum in Tarnów. The selected artifacts will be presented at the exhibition in the Jagiellonian Library organized by the above-mentioned institutions in May 2024. During the meeting, the final dates for transporting part of the collection to Krakow were also agreed, as well as the method of presenting them as part of the exhibition. The collection of Pygmy artifacts is a set of everyday items that have been collected by Mrs. Izabela Cywa during her 12 years of work among the Aka Pygmies in the Central African Republic.
