Polish-African Academic Forum at the Jagiellonian University

On May 22-26, 2023, the first Polish-African Academic Forum was held at the Jagiellonian University. At the invitation of the Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for Collegium Medicum, prof. Tomasz Grodzicki, representatives of the scientific staff from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Ahfad University for Women in Omdurman (Sudan) and the University of Rwanda in Kigali (Rwanda) came to Krakow. The Polish-African Academic Forum was an opportunity to exchange experiences and start international scientific cooperation. The Forum was aimed at developing a platform for cooperation both in the development of medical teaching and in the development of cooperation in joint academic research. Particular parts of the Forum were attended by: Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Jagiellonian University prof. Dorota Malec, Director General of FRSE (Erasmus+) prof. Paweł Poszytek, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sudan Michał Murkociński. As part of the Forum, on May 24 (Wednesday) at the session entitled ‘Perspectives and Opportunities of Collaboration’ held in the Nowodworski Assembly Hall, the Director of the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies presented the JRCAS offer of cooperation.
