Meeting with students interested in volunteering at the Africanist Museum in Olkusz

On 28 November 2022 at the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies JRCAS Director prof. Robert Kłosowicz met with Ms. Ewa Wołoszyn, a representative of the Africanist Museum in Olkusz, and JU students who declared their willingness to volunteering at the Museum. The volunteer work will involve the assistance in digitization and study of the exhibits from the collections of the Africanist Museum in Olkusz. The meeting was aimed at familiarizing students with the Museum's collections and discussing the possibilities of future cooperation. After the presentation and introduction to the history of the institution, Ms. Wołoszyn talked about the tasks in which students will be able to participate as volunteers, she also presented different forms of classes offered by the Museum for JU students, which will be an opportunity to get acquainted, in theory and practice, with the profession of museologist, e.g. exercises in photography or comparative analysis of works of art. Student volunteering is part of the cooperation between the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies and the Africanist Museum in Olkusz.
