On September 13, 2022, in the Libraria of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Maius the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of the JU Institute of Political Science and International Relations organized a research seminar, entitled De Facto States in the International Relations. The Seminar could count with presence of the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies researchers. One of the seminar sessions was entirely devoted to the African issues related to the problem of Western Sahara. This session was attended by the following members of the JRCAS: prof. dr hab. Robert Kłosowicz (The problem of Western Sahara in the international relations of the Maghreb countries), Dr. Joanna Mormul (Spanish humanitarian aid for Saharawi refugees in Algeria), Dr. Ewa Szczepankiewicz-Rudzka (The guarantee of human rights or the strategic partnership with Morocco? Ambivalence of the EU policy towards the status of Western Sahara), and Dr. Agnieszka Czubik (International legal subjectivity of de facto states. The case study of Western Sahara).
