A seminar with Dr. Adam Knapik organized by the Jagiellonian Research Center for African Studies took place on Monday, March 18, 2019 in the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University. Dr. Knapik is a Romanist and a political scientist, Doctor of Humanities of the University of Silesia and the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3. Currently, he works in Brussels as an expert at the Polish Science Contact Agency (PolSCA) of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he is responsible for communication and cooperation with the environment.

Monday's seminar by dr. Knapik consisted of two parts. The first one included the presentation of information about the activities of the Polish Science Contact Agency in Brussels and the possibilities of financing academic research with the funds from the new framework program "Horizon Europe" for the years 2021-2027. The second part of the presentation was devoted to the concept of the Francophonie in the world, including the French-speaking area of Africa and its development prospects in the following decades. During his lecture, dr. Adam Knapik paid a lot of attention to the objectives and activities of the International Organization of La Francophonie, which is one of his main research interest. The seminar ended with a series of questions from the public.
